Nigel West Dip CII

Managing Director
After beginning his career with Eagle Star Insurance Company in 1987, Nigel joined the family business Fiveways Insurance Group in 1990. Initially, he managed the branch office in Shrewsbury, consolidating that business into the Newport office in 1997, and in 1999 became a director of the overall group. He took over as managing director, with responsibility for running and developing his family business, in 2006. Nigel holds a number of industry qualifications and is a Diploma qualified member of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Active within his local church, Nigel also enjoys playing piano, socialising with friends and caravanning.

Lisa West

Accounts Manager
Lisa has worked in the insurance industry since 1987, initially with a Shropshire broker and then with an American insurer in Bristol. She joined Fiveways Insurance Group in 1990 and managed the company’s Shrewsbury office alongside husband Nigel before moving to the Newport office, administering Personal and Commercial Insurances. For the past 15 years, Lisa has handled the accounts of the business including payroll, Client Money oversight and Insurer reconciliations. Lisa is involved in a variety of church activities, and volunteers for a local Debt centre. In her limited spare time, Lisa enjoys caravanning, reading and has recently taken up the unusual hobby of Church Bell Ringing.

Business Director
Dan joined the family business in 2016, to set up and develop our then new electric vehicle scheme, branded as Greenways Electric Vehicle Insurance. When the opportunity arose to join the family business, Dan decided to return to Shropshire after spending four years in London studying Airline and Airport Management. He gained valuable skills throughout his degree and whist working for BA at Heathrow which he was able to bring into the business. Dan is now Cert CII qualified, and expanded his role to now help manage and direct the business along with Nigel and Lisa, taking up the role of branch manager of the Stafford Office in 2022. Outside of work, Dan has recently gained his Private Pilots Licence, a lifelong dream, enjoys walking his playful Cockapoo (Teddy the Company Mascot!), holidaying in his Caravan and spending time with friends and family.

Emma completed an HND in Tourism & Hospitality Management but then opted to make her career in the insurance industry, joining Fiveways Insurance Group as a trainee in 2002. Emma has been a part of Fiveways team ever since growing alongside the company, and growing her own family over those many years. After working in both personal and commercial lines insurance, she moved across to manage the Woodways Woodland Insurance scheme set up by Fiveways in 2024. A people person, Emma enjoys good company, plenty of laughs and always there for a chat. Outside of work, she loves making memories with family and friends and relaxing with a glass of wine.
