Nigel West, Managing Director
After beginning his career with Eagle Star Insurance Company in 1987, Nigel joined Fiveways Insurance Group in 1990. Initially, he managed the branch office in Shrewsbury, which was consolidated into the Newport office in 1997, and in 1999 became a director. He took over as managing director, with responsibility for running and developing his family business, in 2006. Nigel holds numerous industry qualifications and is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Active within his local church, Nigel also enjoys playing piano and socialising with friends.

Lisa West, Insurance Customer Adviser
Lisa has worked in the insurance industry since 1987, initially with a Shropshire broker and then in the personal accident department of an American insurer in Bristol. She joined Fiveways Insurance Group in 1990 and managed the company’s Shrewsbury office alongside husband Nigel before taking up her current role in the Newport office. Lisa administers personal and commercial insurances, including renewal invitations and handles customer enquiries. As well as being involved in a variety of church activities, Lisa enjoys caravanning, reading and walking the family’s dog.

Emma Lewis, Insurance Customer Adviser/Training and Competence Manager & Supervisor
Emma completed an HND in Tourism & Hospitality Management but then opted to make her career in the insurance industry, joining Fiveways Insurance Group as a trainee in 2002. Today, as well as being an insurance consultant and broking executive, she is the company’s training and competence manager. Emma holds the CII Certificate and is a member of the Chartered Insurance Institute. In her spare time Emma enjoys step and boxercise classes.

Jan Childs, Accounts Manager
Jan has always worked in accounts, gaining experience in a variety of trades before moving into the insurance industry where she has over 20 years of experience. At Fiveways Insurance Group she is responsible for the company’s accounts, banking and payroll as well as general administration. Jan makes her home in Sambrook and her interests include walking, reading and cross stitch.

Claire Guthrie, Insurance Customer Adviser
Claire has a BA Honours degree in hotel management and worked in banking for seven years, moving from a customer service role into personal account management, before joining Fiveways Insurance Group in March 2008. In her role as insurance customer adviser Claire deals with enquiries about home, car and travel insurance and also answers business customers’ queries about commercial policies. In her free time she goes to the gym and enjoys reading, socialising and travelling.

Kate Dorsett, Insurance Customer Adviser
Kate is a general insurance adviser, helping clients to arrange car, home and travel insurance, and joined Fiveways Insurance Group in January 2010. After four years as an administrator for secondary school consultants at Telford & Wrekin Council, Kate completed a one-year Graduate Teacher Programme before taking up a post in Telford & Wrekin Council’s call centre, where she advised on council tax and benefits. Kate has a BA Honours Graphic Arts degree and in her spare time creates artwork for exhibitions in local galleries.

Jackie Smallman, Company Secretary
Jackie was recruited by Fiveways Insurance Group in 1992. Initially working as an office junior at the Shrewsbury branch, she was promoted to customer adviser in 1997 and moved to the Newport office. In 1999 Jackie took on the role of company secretary. Jackie lives in Ercall Heath and her interests include horse-riding, cycling and aerobics.

Kirsti Cartwright, Insurance Customer Adviser
Kirsti has worked in the insurance industry since 2002 and holds the CII Certificate and membership of the Chartered Insurance Institute. Having started out as a life insurance clerk, she went on to handle all types of personal and commercial insurance, specialising for a while in motor/commercial vehicle fleet policies with a major insurance intermediary. Kirsti joined Fiveways Insurance Group in 2010 and deals with new business as well as existing customers’ enquiries and claims. In addition to spending time with her family, Kirsti’s main interests include ice-skating, cycling and socialising with friends.

Ian Cosnett, Financial Adviser
Ian is an independent Financial Planner through the specialist firm English Mutual Financial Planning under which he tailors life assurance, health and personal protection plans and pensions to meet clients’ individual requirements. He began his career as a financial adviser with Allied Dunbar and then moved to Colonial Mutual, where he specialised in affinity group development, before returning to Allied Dunbar in 1996 as a senior group manager. Ian joined the English Mutual Group as an independent financial planner in 2003 and Fiveways Insurance Group formed a specialist introducer relationship with him in 20005 to enable their clients to receive an excellent independent service on other aspects of their financial planning needs. Alan Anthony, Branch Manager
Alan is in charge of the Fiveways Insurance Group office in Stafford and has been with the company since 1974. An insurance broker, advising on personal and commercial policies, since 1966, he also advised on life assurance and pensions until the early 1990s. Alan lives in Hopton and enjoys football and spending time with his family.

Pauline Anthony, Insurance Customer Adviser
Pauline has been an insurance adviser at Fiveways Insurance Group in Stafford since the 1990s, and is responsible for handling home, car and travel insurance and commercial insurance, including administering the policies, managing the renewal process and dealing with customer enquiries, both face to face and by phone. Working alongside her husband Alan, she also provides general office support. Pauline enjoys spending time with her family and her other interests are gardening and the theatre.

Nick Anthony, Insurance Customer Adviser
Nick Anthony has spent his entire career in the insurance industry, joining Fiveways Insurance Group in 1990 straight from school. He is part of the team based at the Stafford office and liaises with customers to tailor personal and commercial insurance policies to meet their needs. Nick is also responsible for negotiating terms with insurers and for providing claims handling support. He lives in Walton on the Hill and spends his free time playing football, mountain biking and entertaining his three children.

Claire is based at the Stafford office and has been a key member of Fiveways Insurance Group since 1999. Her main role is in administering car, home and travel insurance and commercial insurance policies, which includes overseeing renewals invitations and handling customer enquiries. She also assists with general office duties. A resident of Coppenhall, Claire spends most of her spare time with her family.
